3 Frenchy Bun

 Today I needed to make up something new, and didn't have time to read through a tutorial from my pinterest board:) so here is what we came up with

I just did french braids down the sides, and one down the middle to the end of my hair. then I braided those braids together, then pinned them into a bun. easy peazy

I found these Firm Hold  pins by conair, at walmart, they were expensive, 3 bucks for 18 of them, but the ROCK. I have such thick hair, and I have tried all types of other pins and have to use so many to keep buns in place. This style took only 2 of those firm hold pins, and it has stayed put firmly for the entire day. Also they didnt get bent really much at all they will be able to be reused alot Im thinking, much more than regular ones I go through like crazy. 

Vintage Pumpkin

Well this was orignally my odd ball craft called, "vintage pumkin skirt"

Then by popular vote, it was decided to be too wierd and cinched in. I agree, peace-out pumpkin skirt...you were too out there:)

It was really simple. a piece of crochet lace I had on hand, just safety pinned in the back for easy removal,  with some crochet flowers I had made for hair clipped on to the lace.  Around the stem I just cut a tiny piece of green burlap and a teenie tiny piece of hemp rope, and a string of decorate fake pearls. Odd? I dunno.... but I really liked it:)

Fun Table Center-Pieces

We had a great time making this little craft for the tables at our block party. "C" found it on pinterest....here was the original pin.

Here is our fun rendition! "J" had the great tutu idea for the little pots, I think we will make these for a certain little sister's baby shower tables! good times!

The blogger from the original pin pointed out how long they took. They definately took us a while....like 3 hours-ish lol! BUT I will totally do them again because we realized the trick is not to begin by glueing all of the cup cake liners so close together. space them out, and then fill in the spaces to get the look you want that would have been way faster. Happy crafting

****I have recently done more of these....for that certain little sisters shower:) I got one done in 20 minutes...by putting the cupcake liners all separate in front of me, holding the ball in one hand, and hot glue gun in the other. I would dab the hot glue on, place it on the ball and hold it in place under the palm of my left hand, while that one was drying I was dabbing another  and adding more and more, continuing to hold in place the newly placed ones while they dried securely! They turned out great and WAY faster****

Also we found these cheap plastic champagne glasses 6 for a buck at the dollar store AND to boot the bottoms are removable! perfect for this craft!

Voila! 20 minutes later!

I think they are nice without dressing up the champagne glass.

But in order to incorporate my sissy's baby colors I did, I havent added the big poofy Teal bow to the one on the left yet

Well Hello!

I am a new co-author to this fabulous crafty blog of my darling friend Candice! We thought we merge our craft and recipe and pinterest trials into one blog together to have fun together creating! We tend to do a lot of our crafts and recipes together so this would create less work because we can share posting! So please don't be annoyed at the sudden on-slaught of postings because I am going to be transferring all of mine from my personal blog over here yay!  Which lets face it wont be many compared to the Candice the amazing home-maker:)

I love love to Tat and Crochet and I am slowly learning to sew. The little headband above is just a little piece of vintage lace hot glued to a dollar store headband:) Candice is teaching me too cook:) Jen our neighbor is helping us both be better crafters! I hope you find something that will be helpful and fun!

Mummy Door

I saw this on pintrest and fell in love with it... We got streamers from the dollar store and just used card stock for the eyes... We taped the streamers to the door in every which way. It was super cute. It went way lower but my sweet 1 year old got ahold of it and tore it up to pieces. Luckily he couldn't reach the whole thing and we still had a half of mummy... 

Super easy and quick...

Snake Wreath

I saw this and loved it... I knew I could make one so got right on it the day before Halloween :) 
They were super easy to make. The one on the left is Stephy's and the one on the right is mine. We loved how they both are different and we were sitting there look at each others the whole time...

Things you need...
-Sticks or branches off a tree (make sure they are green or they wont bend)
-Wire so you can tie your sticks together, we used the green floral wire
-Snakes of all sizes, we bought 16 for $1.25 then one big one for $1
-Hot glue for your snakes
-Black spray paint

So bunch up your sticks and make a wreath. This may take a little time or just throw it together. We liked the branches sticking out here and there for a spookier look. Wire a little bit at a time it will help it go faster. When you have your wreath made start hot gluing your snakes on. That only takes a couple minutes. After get the spray paint out and start spraying the wreath. We did two coats on the front and one on the back. Let dry all night then if you want to have something extra add a spider or something that is spooky. Add the wire to the back so you can hang it on your door and your all set :)

It took a totally of an hour to get them done. So quick and fun

chicken sandwichs w/ 'pumpkin' buns

Every kid needs a fun lunch on halloween. My Aunt bought these buns and gave them too us for halloween so it was time to make lunch. Chicken is a hit in our house and thats what we had ready.

-Hamburger Bun 8 Ct @ Lee's
-Take your defrosted chicken and put it in a bag with a few splashes of olive oil, the lemon juice and herbs. Let marinate a little while. Cook in the over or in your lean mean fat grilling machine.
-Add Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese, & Miracle Whip 
-Put together and enjoy 
-For the younger kids I just cut up the chicken and let them eat the bun.
-Don't forget your french fries fingers.

What a fun Halloween Lunch or even a once in awhile lunch the chicken was amazing and moist

Haunted Halloween Signs

My neighbors and I  thought it would be fun to make signs to go in front of our homes.
At first the signs were going to say witch way, Ghosts Valley and many more spooky names. But then we came up with our names being spooky and pointing at each others house... It was super fun coming up with each others names. we each had great ideas and made each on different :)
This project took longer then hoped but worth while in the end.


The things you need.
1-long pole you can put in the ground
1-big sign for your name
4-6 little signs for your names
A nail gun
Lots of spooky paint
2 great neighbors to do this craft with

Spooky Ladders

Me and my girlfriend Jenn saw the cutest little ladders at a store and thought we can make these instead of paying 45 bucks for one.... We called up our friend Maggie and asked her to come make one... It was such a fun day :)

    Here is how you make them (so easy)
 Get two long poles for the sides and paint it any color you would like as you can see we all picked a different color. They pick four different sizes of boards and paint those what ever color you want... Have fun with it. We took a nail gun and nailed our boards in. 
 The spiders thats the tough part we took some blocks and just randomly cut it to give it a circle shape but still and different look. Then we tried 3 different ways to do the legs... The way we ending up doing them is hammer a nail in the back and then rap a long piece of wire so you have two legs... (Sorry if that doesn't make sense if you would like I can do a step for step on how to make them) then we just got some fun eyes hot glued them on then nailed them in. 
 We decided after that it would be fun with some cob webs...

Crock Pot Apple Sauce

My kids love applesauce, and the way they go thought it is emptying my pockets like crazy. I got a box full of apples and thought I would put them to good use. I pintrested it up and found an amazing way to make applesauce in the crockpot I could not pass this up I am a crockpot fan. If I can use it I am there. 

The plus about using the crock pot is that you don't have to stir for ever you just put it in and walk away....  :)

First thing you need to do is peel and slice them... I also diced them to make them smaller. 

Place them in your crock pot and add a little bit with love. (Sugar and cinnamon) 
I also add apple juice to it while I was still cutting up my apples.

Once you get the crockpot full to the tippy top  let the apple cook for 6 hours. It makes your house smell amazing all day :)

Once your done get your bottles ready, make sure you sterilize your bottles. Then pour your apple sauce in your bottles




They need to boil for 20 minute to seal... I have made three batches so far and we are loving it. It always seems that I have more time in the morning then evening thats why I have picked the crockpot way and I love it... Good luck let me know if it works great for you :)

note: I did make a batch with out sugar and it tasted just fine.
